Businesses Flock to Tourism Drive

ESL’s Tourism Turbo-Drive forum brought together businesses from all over the region keen to meet, exchange ideas and news and learn about how to take their promotions forward in 2022.

Team ESL was absolutely thrilled to welcome so many regional businesses to the fascinating Waterworks Museum, which is now also offering its useful space to hire for events, meetings and special occasions.

Attendees were treated to a tour of the venue and also to 2 for 1 tickets to revisit or pass on.

Guests were treated to vegan snacks and nibbles from Pot & Page, a wonderful new bookshop and café in Ledbury, while networking and catching up with old and new faces after so many months in movement restrictions. They were also given a goodie bag with a sample of Black Mountain Roast’s own coffee to take away.

The packed business agenda included keynote speakers from Hereford Business Improvement District, While We Visit on Group and Coach Travel, NMITE and the FSB. This gave useful insights into these organisations and how they support the business and tourism communities in the region.

There was also news on ESL’s marketing campaign plans and target markets for 2022 as well as their tremendous achievements in raising Herefordshire’s profile through their press and media activities during 2021.

That was the best presentation on Group and Coach Travel that I have heard” said Richard Asghar-Sandys from Coach Logistics.

Heidi Chamberlain-Jones, MD of ESL, said “It was wonderful to see so many businesses taking the time to come out in the current economic climate. Feedback of the event has been really positive and we’re looking forward to resuming more physical gatherings of various kinds around the county to showcase different venues and bring people together.

For us the promotion of tourism is 24/7 and doesn’t just stop at the traveller. Even as local residents, we are all tourists in our leisure time and we want to help signpost people to what’s on their doorstep as well as attracting visitor foot flow.”
