Orgasmic Cider Company: Craft Cider & Perry makers The Orgasmic Cider Company is a family business & working farm based at Great Parton Farm in the beautiful Wye Valley, Herefordshire. Growing, harvesting and producing Cider, Perry & Fruit Juice using traditional methods. Once pressed the pure juice is fermented in barrels and bottled when ready, with no artificial preservatives or additives, which is why it tastes so good. You are welcome to visit the shop and take an orchard walk (weather permitting) combined with cider & perry tasting, In the shop you can TRY BEFORE YOU BUY! Plus there are lots of other local goodies such as cassis, liquers, local ales and hand-made crafts. Coach parties and groups are welcome to visit by arrangement , to avoid disappointment please call in advance to ensure they are open, as the family are busy farming too! There is also a venue barn for hire, which is suitable for informal, rustic parties and events. There is a reconstructed, original cider mill which had been removed and discarded in a field in 1954, this is the first thing you will see as you arrive at Great Parton Farm. Leominster’s Swan Brewery was set up in 2015 by Jimmy Swan, a brewer of over 25 years’ experience, with the aim to brew classic beer styles exceptionally well. The brewery is 10 barrels in size, a microbrewery, which means each batch is 2,880 pints of expertly brewed ale. Raw materials are chosen with care: about 85% of the hops used are grown in Herefordshire or Worcestershire; the brewing grain is grown in the east of England; a unique strain of yeast is used which is propagated and harvested each time. Swan Brewery ales include their flagship Swan Gold 4.0%, refreshing golden ale, Ruffled Feathers 3.8% crisp, bright ale and Swan Blonde 3.7% Herefordshire hopped blonde ale. Enjoy a guided tour of Wythall Estate’s Vineyard followed by a tutored wine tasting in the Manor house. South Herefordshire has an excellent grape-growing environment, and the Wythall Estate near Ross-on-Wye provides a wonderful experience to understand more about the wine-making process and of course the growing and harvesting of these special vines. Vineyard tours and tutored wine tastings take place on Saturdays throughout the year. Each tour is a maximum of 25 people and pre‑booking is required. The Harp at Old Radnor is a lovely old Welsh longhouse inn perched on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful Radnor Valley, close to the Powys/Herefordshire border. Independently owned and run by Chris and Angela Ireland, The Harp is a real pub, with ancient slate floors, oak beams, antique settles and a huge open log fire. At Frome Valley Vineyard there is a 1.5ha vineyard with nine different vine varieties. Classic English sparkling and still wines are made from the vineyard set among the orchards and hopyards of the Frome Valley. There is also a demonstration vineyard showing the main trellising systems used throughout the world. The shop sells seven still wines together with the award winning sparkling wine as wells as cider, brandy and other wine related gifts. UPDATE: Re-opening Tuesday July 7th 2020 for dine in customers. They will have limited bookable tables inside and some bookable tables undercover outside. They will also be extending their outside area to accommodate more walk ins, these seats will however be weather dependent. Every precaution to make sure both their staff and customers are as safe as possible will be taken. The Beefy Boys understand that not all of their customers will yet feel ready to venture out and eat in the restaurant so they will be continuing to offer collections and deliveries for those who would still rather dine at home. The new measures and systems in place will be a challenge for the team and they expect the measures and style of service to evolve and improve as they go.
