Cathedral Gardens Spring Opening

Hereford Cathedral will be opening the gates to its beautiful gardens on Friday 17 March for visitors to explore.

Each summer hundreds of people take part in the guided tours which run on Wednesdays and Saturdays but, prior to this, the team of volunteer gardeners open the gardens to showcase the spring blooms. This year’s event will take place on Friday 17 March from 10 am – 3 pm. Visitors are welcome to come and explore the Canons’ Garden (located behind the Cloister alongside the River Wye), Cloister Garden and Chapter House Garden and meet the volunteer team who maintain the gardens throughout the year.

“The Spring Opening is a wonderful opportunity to come and visit these tranquil gardens at your leisure and ask any questions you may have about the work which goes into maintaining them. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful team of volunteer gardeners who work all year round to ensure that the gardens of the cathedral are a beautiful place to visit.”

Jess Stallwood, Events Officer
