Congratulations to Southbank House

Congratulations to ESL Member Southbank House in Hereford.

Hilary and Robert Markland, recently entered the Hereford in Bloom best gardens competition and came first in the business category.

So to add to the splendid accommodation in this elegant Victorian villa you get to sit in and admire their award winning garden too. Southbank House is about 10 minutes’ walk from Hereford City Centre and maintains lots of its original Victorian features, including the service bells in the hallway, fireplaces, high ceilings, ornate ceiling roses & coving. There are 5 bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. The bedrooms are light and airy, with some giving fabulous views over the Cathedral, the city and the Black Mountains beyond.

Hereford in Bloom was originally founded in 1999 to enter the city in the national Britain in Bloom competition staged by the Royal Horticultural Society. Set up and managed by a group of volunteers committed to ensuring that Hereford, a vibrant and growing city, protects and enhances its natural environment  Their efforts won top marks from the judges and a Gold Medal in 2015.

The event this year boasted a £525 prize pot and was sponsored by Radway Garden Centre.
