A River Runs Through It – Hereford on the Wye Walk

Hereford Guild of Guides will lead you on a Free Guided Walk along the river highlighting the relationship between river and city through the ages, celebrating Heritage Open Day.

The River Wye has always played a central role in the life of Hereford, and even before settlement began here on it’s banks. A natural wonder, a defence and a threat, a source of food, a route for transport and communication, a resource for industry, trade, tourism and recreation, the river is a precious artery flowing through the city.

Join the walk along its banks and learn about the complex relationship between river and city, past present and future.

Join the walk from Hereford Cathedral West Front at 11am and at 2pm.
