Badass Medusa #MeToo
Mobilise (formerly known as Worcester Arts Workshop) present Badass Medusa #MeToo, a theatre production at The Courtyard in Hereford.
A bold and brave retelling of Medusa’s story through collective rage, agency and a female gaze. This innovative new work written and directed by Hannah Phillips has been co-created with composer Nik Haley and film maker Nicola Prestage. Blurring the lines between live and virtual performance using spoken word, new composition, song, film, and immersive technology. The diverse fierce female identifying collective challenge a misogynistic myth which has silenced and sexualised Medusa whilst intersecting current gender issues and questioning gender injustice women and girls face globally. The audience will be invited to collectively and digitally rewrite a future utopia offering alternative perspectives of gender, sexuality, race and desire.
Mobilise are working in partnership with West Mercia’s Women’s Aid who will be present at the performance.
