Bricks in the Sticks Exhibition at Canwood Gallery

Bricks in the Sticks Exhibition at Canwood Gallery is the Summer 2017 exhibition.

Bricks in the Sticks – A Farmer’s Inspiration takes you on a journey starting with Henri Matisse, one of the most influential artists of French Modernism and who continues to inspire so many artists today, on to Carl Andre, who inspired a generation to debate the merits of contemporary art.

An international collection of current world leading artists are also exhibiting works, including Tomokazu Matsuyama, Blake Daniels, Brett Amory, Jonty Hurwitz, Angela Conner, Almuth Tebbenhoff, Chris Dunseath, and Patricia Terrapon.

From the 1st July – 14th July there will be a rare chance to see two artworks by Henri Matisse, which are in a private collection.  Fittingly, visitors will also be able to see a version of Carl Andre’s Bricks, which was purchased for the gallery by Stephen.

Outside, in fields set in stunning rolling open countryside, the Canwood Gallery Sculpture Park is also taking shape. Alongside permanent exhibits there is a fantastic range of sculptures from Alison Lochhead, Heather Jansch, Harvey Hood, Roger Stephens, Jonathan Loxley, Mark Houghton, Caro Burberry, Richard Jackson, Ed Elliott and Helen Sinclair.

Artworks in the exhibition are for sale and all profits from the exhibition will be donated to Barts Hospital.

1st July – 1st August; Tuesday – Sunday 11am – 5pm. Free entry.
