Bromyard Apple Trail & Quiz
Bromyard are having an Apple Trail & Quiz throughout the half term break. There will be displays in the town’s shop windows, which will allow for social distancing and quiz entry via your phone. (For those not technically minded, forms can be collected from the Tourist Information Centre in Rowberry St and at various shops throughout the town).
There is a huge amount of history sat behind growing apples and producing cider in the Bromyard area which stretches way back to Charles II (1660’s). On the Trail find out about the Redstreak cider apple that was brought to the county and started the craze for cider in the UK, discover local characters, stories and buildings around the area that tell the tale and how it ties into the new resurgence in craft ciders and newly planted orchards that are saving and utilising our local apple varieties today.
There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs and we are very grateful to all the local businesses and shop keepers who are supporting the town this half term, so pop on your walking boots and find out more about what makes Bromyard such a special place to visit and discover some of the treats on offer in the town that have an apple theme.
