Chamber Winds Concert at Leominster Priory

A concert performed by senior wind students from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama

Concert Programme:
Dvorak            Serenade for Winds in D minor Op 44
Mozart            Serenade in B flat for 13 Wind Instruments K361 ‘Gran Partita’

This wind ensemble of senior students from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama will play two of the great works in the wind repertoire. Mozart’s sublime Serenade for 13 Wind Instruments, otherwise known as the ‘Gran Partita’ is a truly celebrated masterpiece.

Also on the programme is Dvorak’s rustic and lyrical Serenade for Winds, arresting from its very opening with its dark, rich sonorities. The work is set in a classical mould but has a distinctly Bohemian flavour.
