Hatha Flow + Sound Bath + Afternoon Tea at Burton Court.

Join Closet Yoga Club® at the historical Burton Court for a 45 minute fluid flow yoga class, followed by a delicious 45 minute sound bath, to awaken the senses and invigorate the body and the mind. ​

Kate Hall trained with BAST (British Academy of Sound Therapy) in 2005, focusing her dissertation on women, their menstrual cycles and the benefits of drumming. She has always had a keen interest in playing with music and sound and enjoys continually learning from and experimenting with a range of instruments including guitar, clarinet and drums, as well as singing bowls, gongs and voice. She trained as a Yoga Teacher in 2007 and body worker practitioner, specialising as an Ayurvedic Technician and working at Panchakarma residential clinics in the UK and internationally offering home visits. Under the umbrella of Ayurveda it was possible to bring all these skills together – pranic/energy work, sound and vibrational therapies, physical massage, yoga and meditation. She has run a successful clinic in the Midlands for a number of years and offers participatory group sound baths and yoga workshops as well as musical and sonic art / soundscape performances.​

Sound baths are sound ‘immersions’. All you have to do is lie down, fully clothed and comfortably, while meditative sounds literally wash over you – a deeply relaxing and quite fascinating sonic journey…….Instruments include singing bowls; both metal Himalayan bowls and silica quartz crystal – gongs and gentle percussion – and provide a chance to let your mind and body simply let go. Sound baths can reduce physical tension in the body and can also provide feelings of freshness and rejuvenation at the mental and level*​

Afternoon Tea will be served once you have risen from your experience with vegan cakes supplied by The Heavenly Cake Company, brownies from Julia & Son and oodles of hot tea! For those who fancy something a little stronger, Burton Court will open their licensed bar for you! ​

*Sound Therapy is not suitable for women in the first trimester, people with heart or brain devices or those suffering from severe mental health episodes due to the vibratory nature. If in doubt please do contact us to check. ​
