Concerts for Craswall – The Magnard Ensemble

The Magnard Ensemble – This young wind ensemble, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn for this concert, have been attracting exceptional reviews since they were formed in 2012.

Their programme blends original pieces with new arrangements and commissions. Humour and joy abound.

Whether the playful start with Zemlinsky’s “Humoreske,” the Gallic charm of Jacques Ibert, right up to the contemporary vibrancy of György Ligeti’s “Bagatelles” and Paul Patterson’s witty, folksy “Westerly Winds”, this will be an exciting evening of exceptional wind playing.

Concerts for Craswall is a charity bringing chamber music to the far flung mountains of Herefordshire.  At the edge of the Black Mountains, Craswall is one of England’s most beautiful and unspoilt communities.
