Creative Cloisters Photography

Hereford Cathedral’s Cloisters are nestled behind the main cathedral building and feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Once home to the Vicars Choral, the Cloisters have been a source of inspiration for centuries, and now we are inviting individuals to come and explore their own creativity in this tranquil and beautiful space. Open to creative professionals, amateurs and complete beginners, the Creative Cloisters sessions will give people the chance to create their own poem or capture photography with the support of a volunteer.

Visitors can explore the Cloisters using photography as a means of reflection and discovery.

The session will start with an opportunity to visit the Old Chapel and view a short video telling the story of the Cloisters. A volunteer will then provide a series of prompts to consider, and time in our Cloisters to respond to them by taking photographs.

All visitors will be given an opportunity to print their favourite photograph at the end of the trail, as a souvenir of the pilgrimage.
