Guided Tour of 17th-Century Rodd Court, Herefordshire

Step back in time with a fascinating guided tour of the atmospheric Jacobean manor house, Rodd Court. Led by knowledgeable guide Alisdair, this one-hour experience offers a unique opportunity to explore the rich history and character of this remarkable building.

Completed around 1630 by William Rodd, Rodd Court served as the heart of the Rodd farm and estate, set within the stunning landscape of the Hindwell River valley. Remarkably, the house remains largely unchanged, preserving its original charm and architectural features.

This Grade II* listed building boasts a diverse and intriguing past—from its role in breeding renowned Hereford cattle bloodlines to its transformation into a creative haven for three successive 20th-century artists. Most notably, it became the home of leading Australian modernist Sir Sidney Nolan, who established a charitable trust here as a rural centre for the arts.

Your tour ticket also includes full access to The Rodd’s grounds and gallery on the day, allowing you to further enjoy the beautiful surroundings and contemporary exhibitions.

This event forms part of the Herefordshire Histories Festival.
