This year marks the sixth Hellens Music Festival and it is thrilling to welcome again remarkable players, young instrumentalists and all lovers of sublime music! Join in this for a five-day musical feast and listen to world-class artists perform, inspire local children and teach talented students from the best music colleges in Britain.
Hellensmusic is a music festival that takes place every Spring over five days at Hellens Manor in Herefordshire. The event’s aims are threefold: to bring exceptional musicians to work together in intimate surroundings exploring new ideas; to provide talented music students from all over the country with the opportunity to learn from world-class professionals in the field; and to bring great music to a lost corner of England, inspiring local audiences, both children and adults, to a greater understanding and appreciation of all music.
The event has a strong focus on music education and training for the young. The main concerts take place in the early evenings, and during the day the performing musicians deliver a series of masterclasses to talented students from the UK’s best music schools and colleges. During five days of intense musical work, students have the chance to learn from renowned professionals coming from some of the best orchestras and ensembles in the world. The course culminates in a final concert where students will have the opportunity to showcase the insights achieved over the week.
Hellensmusic also works closely with local primary and secondary schools, developing a programme of activities during the festival, and at other times through the year. Students of all ages are invited to participate in a series of music workshops (including singing, playing and composition) where they engage with the professional musicians, the masterclass students, and the public.
