Hereford Military History Festival
The inaugural Hereford Military History Festival is set to become a landmark event in the UK’s cultural calendar, with ten newly announced events featuring acclaimed speakers such as Philippe Sands, Conn Iggulden, Clare Mulley, Kate Adie, and Hilary Meredith-Beckham.
Taking place across historic venues including Hereford Cathedral and Castle Green Pavilion, the festival offers a compelling programme that spans centuries of conflict — from Ancient Rome to the war in Ukraine. Audiences will hear extraordinary stories of resistance, survival, and strategy, including the only female agent parachuted into Nazi-occupied Poland, the Pre-Raphaelite artists’ secret regiment, and gripping SAS escape missions.
Designed to spark intelligent conversation and reflection, the festival blends historical insight with contemporary relevance. It also supports the local community, pledging 10% of ticket sales to the Herefordshire Veteran Support Centre, and engaging over 200 schoolchildren in educational activities.
With an on-site bookshop by Rossiter Books and a diverse line up of talks, debates, and dinners, the festival promises a weekend of discovery and dialogue.
