I Elizabeth is a Theatre Production at The Courtyard in Hereford.

The award-winning creators of Orlando, Austen’s Women and The Time Machine return to The Courtyard this March with I, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth I: Queen at 25, political phoenix and famously unmarried – but who was the woman beneath the crown? Using only Elizabeth’s words, adapted from letters, speeches and writings, writer and performer Rebecca Vaughan explores the queen’s struggle to reconcile the desires of womanhood with the duties of sovereignty.

The Courtyard is a fantastic resource for the people of Herefordshire and beyond, having a 400 seat main theatre, a 120 seat studio theatre (showing smaller scale productions and regular film screenings), rehearsal rooms, a gallery, meeting areas and an award winning café serving a wide range of meals, snacks and drinks.
