Learn to Paint in the Canons’ Garden
Learn how to paint on location in the lovely surroundings of Hereford Cathedral’s Canon’s Garden with experienced landscape painter and teacher Susan Edwards, who is exhibiting with at Hereford Cathedral during September.
There will be group and individual tuition on many topics including composition, colour mixing, using tone and shadow, avoiding the pitfalls of copying photographs, and basic perspective. Take your familiar materials to work in your preferred medium, a sketchbook, camera or phone, and be prepared for it to be windy! Think of painting en plein air as a sport like sailing or fishing – the weather plays an important part so take sunhat and warm layers!
The day will start with a short introduction with tips on how to begin, then weather permitting, the class will move outside.
The workshop runs from 10am – 4pm and includes tea, coffee and biscuits in the morning. Take your own packed lunch.
Pre booking is essential and places are limited – tickets cost £65.
