Ledbury Poetry Launch
Join in this wonderful lunchtime event in Ledbury for poems and conversation inspired by ‘Soil’, an outstanding debut poetry collection from Catherine Swire, published this autumn by The Artel Press.
Meet its author at The Barrett Browning Institute, home of the Ledbury Poetry Festival, for a selection of readings from Soil plus contributions from artists and friends and discussion with Liverpool-based The Artel Press.
Soil is a profound exploration in poetry and prose of eight locations across the Worcestershire – Herefordshire border, conceived as a series of walks and beautifully illustrated by the Russian artist Marina Kolchanova.
Swire’s poetry however reveals a deeper purpose, seeking to understand absence and the effects of trauma through careful reading of the landscape.
Admission is free and refreshments will be provided, all are welcome. Signed copies of Soil and other Artel titles will be available.
Pay and Display Parking at St Katherines and Bye Street (2 mins walk) Ledbury Train Station (15 mins walk)
