Living History at Hampton Court Castle – American Civil War

The Mid Victorian Militia are a group of experienced American Civil War reenactors. The camp set up at Hampton Court Castle will portray a typical soldier’s encampment.

This includes a handling and show and tell table with period replicas, and museum quality display cases which contain original artefacts, carte de visite photographs, contemporary illustrations and a handwritten RVC captain’s commission to Sir George Denys, signed by the Second Earl of Zetland.

During the day there will be firing and drill displays at set times, cooking and camp activities. This living history displays offers lots of interaction, education and of course entertainment!

The gardens, castle tours and Orangery Cafe are all open as usual during this event. Normal admission prices apply.
