Maylord Orchards Christmas Festival

Maylord Orchards is proud to partner with the Herefordshire Council Markets Team to present the Hereford City Christmas Festival, a vibrant seasonal celebration designed to complement the annual Lights Switch On hosted by Hereford City Council and Sunshine Radio.

Taking place from 12 noon to 6pm, the festival transforms the city centre into a Festive Market Wonderland, featuring over 50 market stalls spread across Widemarsh Street, Maylord Street, Trinity Square, and Gomond Street. Visitors can also explore a large indoor market inside the former Wilko unit, showcasing local makers, artisans, and unique Christmas gifts.

Family-Friendly Festivities
The event offers a full day of entertainment for all ages, including:

• Meet-and-greet opportunities with Santa & Mrs Claus in a charming grotto
• Free face painting, balloon modelling, and sparkly festival hair makeovers
• Lego play zones and colouring activities for children
• Live music and performances throughout the afternoon
• A delicious array of local food and drink, from hot pork and turkey rolls to mac & cheese, flatbreads, Indian cuisine, and festive beverages

A special guest appearance by the Car Show’s ‘Stig’, the iconic anonymous racing driver from Top Gear, adds a unique photo opportunity while supporting charity fundraising efforts.

Charity Spotlight
Entry to Santa’s Grotto and children’s activities is free, with voluntary donations welcomed in support of Megan Baker House, a charity aiding individuals with motor disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s, and stroke recovery.

Double the Sparkle
At 5pm, Maylord Orchards will host its own Christmas Lights Switch On, perfectly timed to coincide with the city’s official switch-on, bathing Hereford in festive glow and cheer.

A Medieval Twist
Adding a touch of historical flair, visitors may encounter a 12th Century Knight in shining armour, offering interactive combat demonstrations and insights into medieval life—festive style. Think Game of Thrones, Braveheart, or Robin Hood brought to life!
