Newton Court Good Friday Cider Tour

Ask people across the nation – or even the world – what Herefordshire is famous for and they’ll come back with apples and cider in their responses.  Herefordshire has the perfect soils and weather to grow the world’s finest apples.  Join one of our cider tours to discover about orchards; cider apple and perry pear varieties; our organic status; picking and pressing; fermenting; bottling and of course tasting!  Some of the tour is outside in the orchards, and some within the the production area, so come suitably attired for fresh air and fields.

Some of the questions you might have answered on one of our cider tours:

  • How can you tell if an apple is ripe?
  • How many litres of apple juice do you get out of a tonne of apples?
  • What’s the difference between perry and apple cider?
  • Why is frost important to cider making?
  • How does our organic flock of sheep help with the cider production?

As well as cider and perry to taste, we have our own pressed apple juice – so whether you’re a tippler or a driver you can enjoy the event.
