Ross-On-Wye Walking Festival

Ross-on-Wye Walkers is pleased to announce their eighth annual Ross-on-Wye walking festival. The festival will take place from 28th – 30th of September 2018.

The programme includes several well established favourites like the walk with a lunch cruise on the river Wye, the steam train walk and, famously, “The Last Cream Tea of Summer”. Also on the programme is a leg-stretcher to the top of May Hill and a very special walk with a visit to Sollars Hope church where walkers will hear about Dick Whittington and his family. The medieval Yatton Chapel features on another walk where s history of the chapel will be provided by the walk leader followed by a light lunch. A shorter walk looking at the geology of Little Doward is also planned. In 2015 a surprisingly popular walk featured a visit to a robotic milking parlour and this walk, in the Hope Mansell valley, will be repeated this year.
