Save The Wye Exhibition

Visit Canwood Gallery in Checkley this August and September for the Save The Wye Exhibition.

The River Wye has been a source of inspiration, hope, joy and relaxation for so many people. The River now needs us to return the favour and fight to save it.

We have less than two years to save the River Wye from the effects of pollution. Sewage and enormous volumes of chemical run-off from poultry farms are devastating the rivers ecosystem. Plant, fish and bird life has rapidly diminished in recent years. Unless swift action is taken the Wye will become too polluted to swim or kayak on, and the water will be poisonous to animals.

Canwood Gallery is teaming up with River Action UK to help raise funds to protect the River Wye from further damage and raise the profile of the urgent action needed. We have asked creatives from Wales, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire to use the power of art to celebrate our wonderful River Wye.
