THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN (CERT TBC)

Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, The Banshees of Inisherin follows lifelong friends Padraic (Farrell) and Colm (Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Padraic, aided by his sister Siobhan and a troubled young islander, endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer.

The Director of American Hustle and Joy returns with another star-studded cast for a historical comedy for the ages. In the 1930s, three friends witness a murder, are framed for it, and uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history.

LYLE, LYLE, CROCODILE (PG)

Lyle is a reptile who lives in a house on East 88th Street in New York City. Lyle enjoys helping the Primm family with everyday chores and playing with the neighbourhood kids, but one neighbour insists that Lyle belongs in a zoo. Mr. Grumps and his cat, Loretta, do not like crocodiles, and Lyle tries to prove that he is not as bad as others might first think.

With the removal of Rowe vs. Wade that shook America and the world in 2022, Phyllis Nagy brings us a tale from the 1960s to show the realities women faced with illegal abortions. A married woman with an unwanted pregnancy lives in a time in America where she can’t get a legal abortion and works with a group of suburban women to find help.

For all of you art lovers we have the enigmatic story of Hilma af Klimt. Now recognised as one of the western world’s few abstract artists, Hilma explores the life of a scientifically minded young woman whose work would go on to be recognised worldwide.

Before the success of Bong Joon-Ho’s Parasite, the key name in Korean cinema was Park Chan-wook, the iconic Director of Oldboy, Stoker and The Handmaiden). This month he returns with his latest romance thriller in which a detective investigating a man’s death in the mountains meets the man’s unusual widow. Foreign Language with English subtitles.

Just days before Christmas enjoy a Relaxed Screening of this beloved Christmas film in our Nell Gwynne Studio. On Christmas Eve, a young boy embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole on the Polar Express, while learning about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas. Our Relaxed Screenings are open to everyone but may benefit individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning difficulties or sensory and communication difficulties or those who may benefit from a more relaxed environment.

MATILDA: THE MUSICAL (PG)

Matilda

An adaptation of the Tony and Olivier award-winning musical. Matilda tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a sharp mind and a vivid imagination, dares to take a stand to change her story with miraculous results. There will be a Baby Friendly Screening on Thursday 29 December at 5pm.
