The Passion of Joan of Arc – Silent Film

Herefordshire Historic Churches Trust presents The Passion of Joan of Arc – A silent film showing at Ledbury Church with live improvised organ accompaniment.

The Passion of Joan of Arc (French: La Passion de Jeanne d’Arc) is a 1928 silent French historical film based on the actual record of the trial of Joan of Arc. The film was directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer and stars Renée Jeanne Falconetti as Joan.

Anthony Hammond studied improvisation with David Briggs and Naji Hakim, Anthony is also one of the world’s leading authorities on the improvisation techniques of one of the 20th century’s greatest organ performers, the legendary Pierre Cochereau. Himself known for flamboyant, captivating improvisation, it is little wonder, with influences such as these, that Anthony Hammond now shares the joy of improvisation with audiences around the world.

Performance starts at 7.30pm. and tickets can be bought here or at the door.
