The Sixteen: Choral Pilgrimage 2024

The Sixteen return to Hereford Cathedral with their 2024 Choral Pilgrimage.

The 2024 Choral Pilgrimage celebrates the art of imitation, featuring music by Orlande de Lassus, Josquin, Casulana, and Bob Chilcott. The programme highlights the richly sensual choral music of Renaissance master Orlande de Lassus, whose motets, masses, and madrigals, written over 300 years ago, still resonate today.

These pieces, often crafted from scraps of other music, will be complemented by a new commissioned work inspired by Lassus and two madrigals from Maddalena Casulana, the first female composer to have a book of her works printed.
