Play and sports equipment can be borrowed from the welcome kiosk from 20 July – 1 September.

A Summer of Play awaits at The Weir Garden. Follow the winding paths through the riverside garden and discover the natural play area and riverside meadow, with plenty of room for picnics and perfect spots for a game of hide and seek. There is even more to explore in the walled garden, where you’ll find plenty of space for some a variety of lawn games and a comfortable bell-tent to cool off in.

Summer of Play activities are free to take part in (normal admission applies).

An archaeology adventure: summer holidays trail

Step back in time to the Roman Empire at The Weir Garden this summer. Discover the secrets of the garden and learn some new skills to help you uncover the mysteries of the riverbank, completing the fun games and activities as you explore.

This trail will be running from Saturday 20 July to Sunday 1 September. Trails cost £3 per person and include an activity sheet, colouring pencils, and a prize.
