The Writing Room present: Ritual
Writers from The Courtyard’s Writing Room present a showcase of their work in Ritual this July.
From marriage ceremonies to football colours, bedtime routines to greetings and farewells, ritualised human behaviour is embedded in all our lives. In our latest fresh-off-the-page showcase of dramatic writing, the members of the ever-popular Writing Room explore just how significant it is.
Audiences are invited to a fascinating excavation into our inexplicable need for customised habits.
The Writing Room is delivered for The Courtyard by Feral Productions and Open Sky Theatre. The Writing Room sessions are led by Lisle Turner who also edits the material which is directed by Claire Coaché and produced by Estelle van Warmelo.
When asked to describe her experience of The Writing Room, member Judy Woodfield said:
“I have found The Courtyard Writing Room to be a supportive collective; a safe space to ask questions and test out ideas. A place where I’ve felt encouraged to learn and embrace genres outside my comfort zone and in doing so it has opened my mind and kicked my creativity into new territories.”
