Eat, drink and be entertained against the backdrop of the stunning Malvern Hills.

A world of flavours will be coming together during a day-long open air celebration at the Three Counties Showground.

The Three Counties Food & Drink Feast on August 22 promises to be a treat for everybody’s taste buds, showcasing the best of local produce and globally-inspired street food against the backdrop of the glorious Malvern Hills.

Visitors will be able shop from farmers, brewers, butchers, bakers, growers, cheesemakers, cooks, confectioners, distillers and chefs, including many from Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and enjoy freshly-cooked snacks at the event, which takes place between 10am and 6pm. At the same time there will be some toe-tapping music and bars spread throughout the site serving everything from cider to Pimm’s and gin.

The showground covers a vast 90 acre-site, so there will be plenty of space to roam around, and there will also be a limit on the number of tickets available for sale.

“We will be combining the nation’s love of great food and drink with a spacious, outdoor, family-friendly environment, providing a unique opportunity for visitors to explore new flavours within a beautiful setting,” explains the Three Counties Agricultural Society’s Head of Shows Diana Walton.

“After the lockdown and gloom of the past few months, we want to give food lovers something to look forward to, as well as provide a boost for producers.

“Whether visitors are looking for artisan products, stylish street food or freshly-picked fruit and vegetables, we’ll have an array of mouth-watering flavours all in one place.”

The team at the Three Counties Showground has spent several months working on ways to modify and improve its facilities.

“We are delighted to have been awarded the Visit England ‘We’re Good to Go’ industry charter mark,” says Diana. “This accreditation verifies that the showground meets the Government and public health guidance on COVID-19.

“There will be plenty of space around each stall, and all the designated seating areas, and all our facilities will be maintained to the highest standards.

“It’s essential that people feel at ease and happy, and enjoy themselves.”

As well as providing an opportunity for visitors to stock their larders on the day, it’s hoped the Three Counties Food & Drink Feast will signpost visitors to the wealth of producers on their doorsteps and encourage them to make more purchases in the weeks and months to come.

“Locally-produced food has already played a vital role in feeding the UK during the Coronavirus crisis, with many farm shops reporting a dramatic increase in customers,” says Diana.

“We hope the Three Counties Food & Drink Feast will lead to more people discovering these very special businesses, which are often the beating hearts of their communities.
