Transience and Tranquillity Exhibition
Canwood Gallery is proud to present Transience and Tranquillity, a contemplative solo exhibition by London-based artist Sophie Coe, running from 3 July to 1 August 2025.
Working across cyanotype, monoprint, etching, charcoal, and ink, Coe explores the sensory experience of landscape and the emotional traces left by place and time. Her pieces are deeply rooted in nature—capturing fleeting moments of stillness and evoking the quiet power of memory through expressive, often delicate, mark-making.
Trained in both fine art and architecture, Coe began her career working with the world-renowned Sir Norman Foster, contributing to major projects including Hong Kong’s airport buildings. This architectural foundation has shaped her artistic sensibility, imbuing her compositions with a balance of precision, atmosphere, and structure.
Now a full-time artist based in London, Coe’s work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Mall Galleries, and with respected galleries across the UK. She continues to gain recognition for her thoughtful approach and subtle yet emotionally resonant style.
Transience and Tranquillity marks Coe’s debut solo exhibition at Canwood Gallery. Visitors will experience a collection of new works that speak to impermanence, connection, and the often-overlooked beauty in the natural world.
