Translating Landscapes Writing Workshop

In the beautiful surroundings of The Rodd.

How do we capture the silhouette of a tree, the curve of a hill, or the quiet swell of a stream in words?

Our perception of the landscape is deeply personal—shaped by memory, emotion, and experience. It feels effortless to see, yet when we try to write it down, the translation can become tangled and uncertain.

Step into a day of creativity and exploration with experienced facilitator, writer, poet, and performance artist Simone Gilliatt. Set within the inspiring surroundings of the Rodd, this workshop invites you to play, experiment, and discover new ways of bringing landscape to life through language.

Through a series of guided exercises and thoughtful prompts, you’ll explore how to translate what you see and feel into vivid, expressive writing. There will be space to share your work in a supportive and welcoming group.

Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with a light soup lunch, plus tea and cake.

Led by: Simone Gilliatt.
Suitable for: Anyone interested in words and writing. No previous experience required.

Please note: Elements of the workshop may take place outdoors, so sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
