Watercolour Painting at Queenswood

Herefordshire Wildlife Trust’s artist in residence, Richard Bavin, will give a workshop in Watercolour Painting, taking inspiration from the beautiful grounds of Queenswood Country Park.  Participants will work outdoors in the morning, making rapid watercolour sketches to capture form, colour and light.  In the afternoon we will set up in the Jubilee Building to create large, expressive watercolours with the help of both memory and the morning sketches.  Participants are encouraged to bring a smart phone, tablet or similar device to capture supplementary photographic references – this also highlights the shortcomings of photographs and shows the value of making a painting!  This workshop is aimed at people with some experience of watercolour.

Venue:  Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum, Dinmore Hill, Leominster, Herefordshire, HR6 0PY.  Meet at the Gift Shop, usual parking charges apply.

Cost:  £55.  Participants are required to bring their own paints, brushes and paper.  A suggested basic list with local and online art material stockists will be available upon booking.

Booking essential.  Book online at www.herefordshirewt.co.uk or call 01432 356872
