Enjoy a delicious 7 course Wine Dinner at Glewstone Court, freshly prepared by Head Chef Vicky Lyons and accompanied by perfectly selected and matched wines presented by Robert Boutflower from Tanners Wines.
These evenings are designed for lovers of fine wines and food and are great fun, you don’t have to be a wine expert to join in.
The evening starts at 7.30pm with an Aperitif in the bar and an opportunity to meet Gary, Karen, Amy & Sam and the evening’s presenter and other guests. A table seating plan, together with the dinner menu and list of wines to be tasted are displayed in the bar and Amy is on hand all night to assist and make sure the evening runs smoothly.
At 8.00pm you will be shown through to the Private Dining Room and, hosted by Gary and the Wine Presenter, continue the 7 course dinner with a different wine chosen to accompany each course. The wines are introduced by the presenter and poured by our waiters and waitresses.
Just before the main course we have a ‘blind tasting’ where guests are invited to taste and identify one of the wines according to country, vintage, region etc. This is a lighthearted interlude but marks are awarded and a winner announced who receives a bottle of the wine.
The evening normally ends around 11.00pm. It is probably best to have booked a taxi home and you are welcome to leave your car here overnight or even book a room and enjoy a full English breakfast in the morning.
Hopefully you will have had an enjoyable evening, with good food, great wines and company, and in the morning – if you can remember, you might think that you have learned something of the magic of wine.
