Hereford Guild of Guides celebrate 35 years

Hereford Guild of Guides celebrate 35 years delighting local people and visitors to Hereford with their wonderful guided city walks.

Hereford Guild of Guides are the Mayor’s official guides and offer daily historic guided walks of Hereford City Centre between May and October and group walks throughout the year. The Guild have gained ten newly qualified guides this year and have also been celebrating their 35th anniversary.

A celebration cake decorated with the city coat of arms was the main attraction at their recent refresher day. (main photo shows Guild members with the 35th anniversary cake)

The sun shone for a special celebration in the historic setting of Kentchurch Court.  Members enjoyed a guided tour of the house which was followed by lunch in the historic dining room and a relaxing walk in the gardens. Walks take place each day – in 2016 from 7th May to the end of October. Each walk is led by a very knowledgeable volunteer member of the Guild of Guides and is approximately one and a half hours from start to finish. walks start at 11:30 Monday – Saturday and 2:30pm on Sundays. All walks commence from the main door at Hereford Cathedral.
