HowTheLightGetsIn Hay 2022 Festival
Philosophy and music festival
Combining critical thinking and challenging debate with diverse music and vibrant culture, HowTheLightGetsIn Hay 2022 Festival is the world’s largest philosophy and music festival. Back for its grand return to Hay-On-Wye, HowTheLightGetsIn celebrates days of discussion and new discoveries with an incredible line-up of music and cabaret.
“There is a crack in everything…that’s how the light gets in”, goes the Leonard Cohen song from which the festival gets its name. And HowTheLightGetsIn brings its own special form of magic to everyone. There is no other place on the planet where you can meet as many of the world’s leading thinkers, discover the most cutting-edge ideas, and party and dance late into the night.
With over 300 events taking place across the weekend, June’s festival promises a weekend filled with unmissable debates, comedy, music and talks: from rapper and activist Lowkey, Nobel Prize winning physicist Roger Penrose, comedian and actor Isy Suttie, legendary biologist Richard Dawkins, award-winning comedian Sally Phillips, trailblazing philosopher of race Tommy Curry, prolific philosopher Alex O’Connor (CosmicSkeptic), plus comedians Olga Koch, Alfie Brown, Leo Reich, Erika Ehler, Joz Norris and many, many more.
