PETER COOKS BREAD – REAL BREAD BAKER (NIGHT SHIFT)

Peter Cooks Bread Ltd is an award-winning bakery in need of a baker to join their friendly team at The Hop Pocket in Bishop’s Frome – which is within easy reach of Hereford, Worcester, Ledbury, Malvern, and many other neighbouring towns.
The bakery specialises in long-fermented yeasted doughs, as well as sourdoughs. They make everything in-house, using local produce and organic flour wherever possible. Peter Cooks Bread are a wholesale bakery, supplying local farm shops and delis, as well as cafes and restaurants across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Ideally they are looking for someone with 1+ year experience of working within a bakery, but are open to applications from chefs who would like to re-train as a baker, committed home bakers looking for the chance to start their dream job, or junior trainee bakers with a passion for bread. What matters most is a willingness to learn and an interest in making a good proper loaf of bread.

- Weighing Out Ingredients
- Mixing Doughs
- Hand Moulding
- Oven Work
- Griddle work
- Sourdough Culture
- Cleaning
- Deep Cleaning
- Keeping Temp Logs & HACCP
- Product Development
- Training Trainee Bakers
- Running bread-making workshops (optional)
The ideal candidate will be:

Please note: Being a baker is a way of life. Your social life / sleeping patterns will be affected. As we like to say, ‘it’s a labour of love’.
Peter Cooks Bread are open from Tuesday to Saturday morning.
Typical Shift pattern:
Tue: 01:00am – 08:30am
Wed: 01:30am – 08:30am
Thu: 01:30am – 08:30am
Fri: 01:00am – 09:00am
Sat: 9:00pm (Fri night) – 05:00am (Sat morning)
A competitive salary is on offer. Max 40 hrs per week. 20 days holiday.
