junior Sous Chef
Passionate about seasonal food with provenance, you’re an experienced chef de partie or similar, full of ideas, who’s ready to take our Glasshouse restaurant to the next level.
With a proven flair for presentation, you’ll have a wealth of restaurant experience under your belt, thrive under pressure and will have exceptional attention to detail when it comes to creating memorable dishes on our breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea menus.
Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll assist with developing new menus, fine-tuning dishes and setting the standard for our award-winning food operation, helping continue the transition from a cafe attached to our stunning furniture showrooms to a destination restaurant.
Though you’ll of course be ready to step up to the plate in the absence of the Head Chef, you’ll be equally happy to get your hands dirty and muck in with the wider kitchen team in busy periods when the job demands.
Your duties will include:
- working closely with the Head Chef to develop new dishes and seasonal menus
- prepping ingredients and preparing and presenting dishes for service, as directed by the Head Chef
- working closely with the Front of House manager to deliver an exceptional food experience
- deputising for the Head Chef in his absence
30-40 hours per week, 9am-5pm. including Saturdays. We sometimes host events and occasionally operate in the evenings. Start mid-May.
