SENIOR WAITER / WAITRESS
4-5 days a week
The role:
We’re looking for a Senior Waiter/Waitress to join the team in our Glasshouse restaurant.
With experience in a restaurant or busy cafe environment, you’ll support our Front of House Manager, helping to lead the team in the day-to-day operation, welcoming customers, taking orders and serving food and drinks.
Organised and efficient, you’ll be confident stepping up to the plate in the absence of the Front of House Manager to ensure the continuing smooth-running of the restaurant.
Equally, when the job demands, you’ll be happy rolling up your sleeves to keep both front of house and kitchen areas clean and workable.
About you:
Enthusiastic and personable, you’re a real team player with a genuine love for seasonal food and drink – one that you’ll be able to communicate clearly to our customers.
With naturally high standards, you’re calm under pressure and share our passion for an exceptional customer experience from ordering to dining.
Leading by example, you’re adept at keeping your team motivated and happy and you’re also a great salesperson, keen to share stories of our hero local producers and recommend dishes and wines, local ales and craft ciders.
Your duties will include:
- warmly welcoming customers and taking orders
- serving food and drinks, quickly and efficiently
- being enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food and drinks we offer, championing our local suppliers
- communicating with customers to ensure they are satisfied with their meals
- assisting with ordering and monthly stocktaking
Hours: 4-5 days a week, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, some Saturdays

GAP YEAR STUDENTS
Full-time short-term contracts, minimum four weeks
The role:
We’re looking for enthusiastic, flexible gap year students – or similar – to join the business this spring. Working across our Glasshouse restaurant, delivery and administration functions, you’re a real team player who’s happy to turn your hand to whatever the business requires.
One day you might be making great coffee and serving lunches in the restaurant, the next you might be out on the road with the delivery team, assisting in the yard or answering the phones in the office.
We’ll need you for a minimum of four weeks, to run consecutively, and we’ll always play to your strengths. Training will be given.
Flexible start dates available from the end of March through to June.
This short-term role is a great opportunity to strengthen your CV.
About you:
Personable, with a can-do attitude, you’re flexible and hard-working, keen to learn new skills and gain valuable experience in a long-established family business.
Your duties may include:
- working as a waiter / waitress in the Glasshouse restaurant
- assisting in the administration department, answering phones and general office duties
- working as part of our warehouse team, assisting with deliveries and general warehouse and yard duties
Hours: full time, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Minimum four-week block.
Start: end of March, through to end of June

COOK
Flexible, part-time
The role:
Is cooking your passion? We’re on the lookout for a confident home cook to join the team in the Glasshouse, our award-winning restaurant.
With a genuine love of great food and drink and a flair for presentation, you’re happy to turn your hand to savoury dishes, puddings and cakes and you’ll be willing and able to help with general kitchen prep when required.
With flexible hours – we’re happy to fit in with the school run or other commitments – you’ll get bags of on-the-job training from our Head Chef and the chance to hone your skills in a professional kitchen. Plus there are generous staff perks and a warm and welcoming team.
Your duties will include:

- assisting the Head Chef with kitchen prep
- baking cakes, flapjacks and biscuits for our counter and afternoon tea
- preparing desserts
- assisting with breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea service

CHEF DE PARTIE / JUNIOR SOUS CHEF
30-40 hours, no Sundays or evenings
The role:We’re looking for a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef to join our award-winning Glasshouse restaurant in Suckley, Worcestershire.
Passionate about local, seasonal food with provenance, you’re full of ideas and eager to learn, and you’ve had some experience in a commercial kitchen.
With a flair for presentation, you’ll thrive under pressure and will have exceptional attention to detail when it comes to creating memorable dishes on our breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea menus. Equally, you’ll be happy to get your hands dirty and muck in with the wider kitchen team in busy periods, when the job demands.
Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll help set the standard for our food operation, once a café attached to our stunning furniture showrooms, now a destination restaurant in its own right.
We’re flexible. We can offer you 30-40 hours per week, weekdays and including most Saturdays. No Sunday working.
