Marketing Officer at Hereford Cathedral
Hereford Cathedral is seeking a confident marketing and communications professional to provide cover during the maternity leave of the current Marketing Officer.
As an integral part of the Cathedral’s staff team, you will work with both clergy and the commercial teams to maintain and increase the profile of Hereford Cathedral at local, national and international levels. The cathedral is not only a place of worship, but also the region’s largest visitor attraction which welcomes around 130,000 visitors a year. Its world-famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition, the Three Choirs Festival and an intensive programme of concerts, exhibitions and educational activities are all vital parts of the city’s activities which attract tourists and visitors to Hereford.
Over the last few years, the digital output of the cathedral (video and audio recording, livestreaming and digital communications) has also increased dramatically with renewed focus as a result of the pandemic.
The role is a temporary fixed-term contract from 1 March 2022 to 31 December 2022. It is a full-time position, planned to reduce to a part-time transitional role when the Marketing Officer returns from maternity leave. Salary £18,000-20,000 per annum equivalent for a 35-hour week Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work will be compensated with time off in lieu.
