Museum Of Cider Facilities Manager

Hereford Cider Museum is an Independent Charitable Trust, founded in 1973 to preserve the history of cider making worldwide. The Museum continues to acquire objects to add to the highly significant collection of presses, bottles, documents and images, many of which are unique. The Museum is Accredited by Arts Council England. The Museum has embarked upon programme of strategic development including improvement of its existing building.

The role of Facility Manager is an active on-site leadership role requiring excellent client relationship and management skills. You will be accountable for premises, contracts, equipment, and compliance systems to ensure safe, sustainable, effective, cost-efficient operations of the Museum.

The role has accountability for Health and Safety, emergency planning, business continuity, facilities and ground maintenance ensuring legal and policy compliance. You will work closely with the Principal Designer responsible for delivery of the Quinquennial review as we undertake a large upgrade to the building infrastructure. You will oversee/project manage works as required the role will be an important part of the team delivering strategic and infrastructural change at the Museum.

You will be self-motivated and have experience in risk management, leading people, managing budgets and identifying savings. We expect high standards to be maintained by our staff and contractors and you will be the conduit between external staff and the Trustees, having full oversight into the operations on a day-to day basis.

We are looking for someone with experience in a similar role who understands building health and safety regulations and the management of maintenance works in an operational public access site. Experience of managing third party suppliers and contractors to ensure works carried out on site are delivered safely and with minimal disruption.
