Meet Farmyard Friends at CountryTastic

Families looking for things to do with the kids this Easter break should look no further than CountryTastic, a family-friendly one-day event on Thursday 14 April at Three Counties Showground, Malvern.

Jam packed with interactive learning experiences, farmyard friends and oodles of countryside fun, CountryTastic is an unforgettable immersive day out aimed at children aged 5-11 years old taking place on the Thursday before Easter weekend.

Kids and their parents can expect to experience the wonders of the British countryside through a variety of animal, food and science-based interactive features included in the ticket price of £9 per adult, £5 per 5–11-year-old. The event is free for under 3s.

Learning whilst having fun is the aim of the game at CountryTastic with a packed programme of demonstrations in the Ask the Farmer classroom, where the UK’s favourite TV farmer Adam Henson will be returning as ambassador for the show.

Animal lovers will be impressed with the number of farmyard friends on show in the livestock ring, alongside unmissable features like the amazing ‘dancing sheep’ who take centre stage at the heart-warming live comedy Sheep Show, the impressive Pig Agility skills showcased by the BPA Junior Pig Club and their talented hogs and ‘unicorn’ rides with the popular Pampered Ponies.

Young adventurers can get involved in wild activities in the Really Rural zone, such as den making, natural painting and wild detective skills, or have-a-go cricket activities hosted by Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

Aspiring chefs can learn about food and where it comes from by getting involved in interactive workshops and cook-a-longs including making pasties with Ladies in Pigs, Easter bread making workshops with Get Cooking! or learn about cheese with Croome Cuisine.

Arts and crafts will be on offer throughout the event for children to try out their skills and take something home like corn dolly making, make your own hoolahoop with Junk Fish, or clay pottery workshops with Eastnor Pottery.

Jane Edwards, Shows Manager at Three Counties, commented “CountryTastic is a much-loved event by families across the three counties and we can’t wait for its long overdue return. Countrytastic is perfect for children wanting to let off steam and enjoy an educational day out filled with lots of hands-on activities and games.

Families will be able to travel around the show in style in the new horse-drawn dray cart rides and the much-loved tractor and trailer rides will also be making a welcome return for 2022.

There is so much for young visitors to see and do at this fantastic day out over the Easter holidays.”
