Prestigious awards for Herefordshire Farm Shop
Great Taste, the world’s most trusted food and drink awards, has announced its latest award winners of 2022 and they include Oakchurch Farm Shop.
Out of thousands of products from countries all over the world, family owned and run Oakchurch Farm Shop in rural Herefordshire achieved not just one but seven new awards to add to their existing twenty-nine!
Four of Oakchurch’s homemade ice creams – raspberry sorbet, choccy nut delight, strawberry, and rummy raisin ice cream, made using fresh local ingredients including handpicked fruit grown on the Oakchurch farm, achieved awards.
One of the judges commented about the raspberry sorbet ice cream: “Vibrant in colour, aroma and flavour and full-on raspberry loveliness – just perfection!”
More awards for Oakchurch Farm Shop included the homemade pies from their kitchens, made using traditional family recipes – apple pie, steak & ale and chicken & ham.
“Exactly what a table surrounded by rosy cheeked children would be hoping for.” One of the judges said about the Oakchurch apple pie. “Perfectly bronzed and hand crimped – We cannot fault this pie.”
Judged by over 100 of the most discerning palates, belonging to food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs, buyers, retailers and producers, as well as food writers and journalists, Great Taste is the most coveted of all food and drink awards. As well as a badge of honour, the unmistakeable black and gold Great Taste label is a signpost to an outstanding product, which has been discovered through hours and hours of blind tasting.

The local family owned and run Oakchurch Farm Shop is at Staunton-on-Wye, 10 minutes from Hereford on the A438 Brecon Road.
