Kington Walking Festival
Kington Walking Festival returns this autumn, inviting walkers of all levels to explore some of the most spectacular landscapes the Welsh Marches have to offer. With a full programme of guided walks and events, the festival is a celebration of the great outdoors, local heritage, and the warm camaraderie of fellow walkers.
Kington, nestled on the border between the lush, pastoral beauty of Herefordshire and the wild uplands of Wales, is the perfect base for walking adventures. Whether it’s a strenuous hill climb or a gentle riverside stroll, the festival offers something for everyone. Walks are led by a passionate team of local volunteers who bring the area’s natural history, ancient landmarks, industrial heritage, and artistic highlights to life.
The festival is organised by Kington Walks, a community group dedicated to promoting walking in the area. In addition to the festivals, they maintain local footpaths and run the town’s Walking for Health scheme. Their efforts are supported by local businesses and the Town Council, all working together to uphold Kington’s proud status as a Walkers are Welcome town.
Expect sublime views, welcoming pubs, good food, and the great company of like-minded walkers. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning friend, the Kington Walking Festival offers a warm welcome and an unforgettable walking experience.
