The Crown Inn at Woolhope, Wassail
Meet at 4pm at The Crown Inn, Woolhope.
The Kings and Queens of the wassail (all the children) will be invited to make paper crowns to wear during the procession.
At about 5 pm with flaming torches we will march through the church yard and up to the orchard where we will perform the Wassail with traditional songs and poems.
The Kings of the Wassail will pour cider at the base of the tree and the Queens will place toast in the branches. This will feed the tree for next year.
We then make a lot of noise so bring anything noisy! This will warn off the nasty spirits and keep the tree safe for another year!
It will then be time to return to the pub for more pig and plenty of cider!
Proceeds to local charity.
All are welcome.
