Hereford Happening

Join the fun at the Hereford Happening Spring Parade in Hereford on Saturday 30 April.

After the success of our treasure hunt last summer and to launch the Hereford River Carnival 2022, we’re having a day of making, dancing, parading and more on Saturday 30 April.

From 11am, you can meet the Carnival team, find out more about the Carnival and colour in a Carnival flag to take on the parade.  You’ll be entertained by crazy circus entertainer Steve Kaos, get a close up view of the Hereford Hero Carnival Heads and Fetch Theatre’s amazing giant insect puppets, learn a few moves with the Dolloway Dancers and loads more.

There will also be a puppet making workshop for 25 lucky folk who will work with the team from Fetch Theatre to make their own mini dragonfly puppet to carry in the Parade.

At 1pm, we’ll all gather and at 1.30 parade through Hereford to Castle Green where Sohan Kailey of Aashiyana Arts – will lead a Bhangra dance session starting at 2pm.  It’s suitable for all ages and abilities and everyone is welcome and encouraged to join in.

This year’s main Hereford River Carnival – Make Waves – will take place on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 August 2022.
