CUP Ceramics Community

CUP Ceramics Community is an open access pottery studio providing studio membership and a range of short and long pottery courses suitable in Hereford.

All of the courses listed on the website are suitable for beginners and regular events open to the public run throughout the year.

This large, airy and beautiful creative space is home to over 50 local potters who pay a monthly fee for access to the facilities. The studio also has a Coffeehouse and Gallery attached.

This lovely little space serves amazing toasties and sides, specialist coffee and teas, delicious home baked cakes and displays an array of ceramic creations made on site and available for purchase.

The pottery taster sessions give a 2.5hr introduction to throwing on the wheel, hand-building and surface decoration.

The one day intensives give a more in depth introduction to throwing and hand building with plenty of time to practice and includes lunch.

The one week intensive allows extensive development in all aspects of pottery including throwing, hand building, decoration and glazing your work and the 10 week evening course covers the foundations of ceramics and is designed to lead into studio membership.

In the school holidays CUP runs fun and engaging sessions for young people giving them real skills and a creative outlet. Be sure to check out their regular ceramics markets and outdoor Raku pot firing events!

CUP is a community interest company so all of their profits are reinvested to give the best and most affordable experience for all including running access sessions for various charities and school looking to access the therapeutic side of making with clay.
