Orchard Cottage
Self catering Cottage
Guests can soak in nature, history, and art when they stay in Orchard cottage on the 200-acre Rodd estate, formerly owned by Australian modern artist Sir Sidney Nolan. Rodd Court and its grounds sit on the English/Welsh border, next to the picturesque Welsh town of Presteigne.
Orchard Cottage is dog-friendly and features a private garden among a collection of 18th-century barns, adjacent to Rodd Court, a Jacobean manor house where Sidney lived with his wife Mary.
From the cottage, guests can tour the area, including the black and white villages of Herefordshire, the historic market town of Ludlow, the internationally renowned town of books, Hay-on-Wye, and the Elan Valley dams. They can enjoy excellent food locally at the many restaurants and award-winning pubs in the area.
The accommodation is very spacious with a lovely flow and can sleep up to four guests. It includes one large double bedroom with a king-size bed, a conservatory, a country kitchen, a generous living room with a log burner and sofa bed, a bathroom and separate shower room, a boot room, and a utility area. There is designated parking adjacent to the cottage.
All rental income supports the Trust’s creative and learning programmes with young people and artists.
