Holloways Blooms as The Telegraph’s Best Upmarket Garden Store

The Telegraph has named ESL Member and destination lifestyle business Holloways as the UK’s Best Upmarket Garden Store.

Gardening writer Val Bourne described the Suckley-based showrooms as “a hidden secret” as she praised the “quirky reclaimed pieces” found in the antiques courtyards surrounding the converted hop kilns – home to Holloways’ latest living, dining and garden furniture collections.

“Holloways is a hidden secret,” she wrote. “Owners Edward and Diana Holloway have been selling style and quality for 35 years. Their yard is full of antiques, snapped up by top designers, and their Hereford cattle provide top-rate food.”

The article showcased Holloways’ Valentine sunbed, a luxury garden lounger.

“The all-weather cushions, wrapped in Olefin fabric, drip dry in no time on this laid-back luxury lounger-cum-sunbed.”

Diana Holloway said the whole Holloways team was delighted with the accolade, which places Holloways in the top 10 Best Garden Furniture Stores of 2024.

“It’s fabulous to be recognised by such a prestigious national newspaper,” she said.

“We pride ourselves on the exceptional design and quality of our furniture, personally delivered by our professional teams, and underpinned by excellent customer service. So we’re doubly delighted to be named as the Telegraph’s ‘best upmarket garden store’.”

“We have a couple of staff parties every year, and the next one is in August so we’ll definitely be celebrating with the whole team then. At the moment, thanks to this lovely summer weather we’ve all be waiting for, we’re flat out delivering furniture and decorative items for the garden all over the country.”

The antiques business was set up by Edward more than 35 years ago, and still today he goes all over the country to seek out unusual pieces for the garden at auctions, farm sales and at private house sales.

“Our team painstakingly repairs and restores them here on site before they go on sale in our courtyards and online, for delivery to our customers right across the UK and into Europe,” added Diana.

“There’s always something different and inspiring to see in our courtyards – our showrooms are always a great day out for home and garden-lovers.”

Holloways and its award-winning farm-to-fork café, The Glasshouse, is open Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm.
