A chance spotting on an instagram feed led the team at Black Mountain Adventure to discover the
talents of local mural artist Paul Shepherd, and the family owned adventure centre just outside of
Brecon has now had an impressive makeover thanks to his skills.
Caerphilly based artist, Paul Shepherd, known on social media as “Walls by Paul”, recently made two
trips to Black Mountain Adventure’s headquarters in Three Cocks and took over their huge walls with

Taking inspiration from original photos of participating activity guests and instructors, he has painted
life-size characters taking on archery, canoeing, abseiling, climbing and gorge walking in brilliant
colour. The results are stunning!
The whole team are over the moon with Paul’s transformation and customers seem to like it too!
As one of the very first adventure companies in the Beacons, Black Mountain was originally set up by
The Durham Family who are still at the helm to this day. They initially started offering canoe hire and
kayak instruction alongside mountain bike hire & guided trips in the early 1990s and this expanded
with the addition of gorge walks and white water rafting with more activities to follow.
