Mary, a lifetime craftswoman, has spent the last 55 years involved in many different crafts, always willing to try something new and to share with others her passion for all things handmade.
The Creative Granary offers a range of workshops for one, two and three days, for Dyeing Fabric with Plants, Relief Printing, Flora Printing, Abstract Painting and Embroidery. These will be run from a converted nineteenth century granary on the farm where Mary lives in rural Herefordshire.
A new dyers’ garden has been grown, now four years old, which will provide the plants for use in the workshops, but as the seasons change from summer to autumn, so will the availability of dye plants and it will become necessary to go further a field when some dyes will be made from vegetable matter and others sourced from the hedgerows.
The full details and cost of the workshops can be found on the website and these must be booked in advance.
The workshops are for all those who are interested in creativity, beginners and others alike. However, because of the type of tools used in some instances, the workshops are not suitable for anyone under the age of 18 years.
To book, either complete the booking form via the website, or simply ring the Creative Granary and choose which workshop you would like to do. If there is no one immediately available to take your call please leave details and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
